A typical early Turkish army, not designed for close melee, rather for wearing down morale with high volume archery and encirclement, then finally a morale breaking charge from all sides. The javelin men are there to hold firm on any available high ground so that if engaged the archers can shoot into the enemy's rear. Enemy cavalry is dealt with using hit and run tactics by the horse archers so that foot archers can get away. Not a perfect army by any means, but it is difficult to catch and excellent fun.
